Where are you from?

South Shields – UK

When did you begin grip training?

2003

What first interested you in grip training?

At first I was suprised at how so many people would train their bodies so vigoursly whilst paying no attention the what is essentially the root of the kinetic chain – the hands. In weightlifting most lifts begin at the hands so I figured what use is a strong muscle in the torso if the hands can’t support the poundage. It’s a the greatest and most famed bottleneck in weightlifting.  Several articles which I read soon afterwards reiterated these same thoughts so I figured I’d be one of few to get on the grip training wagon and begin doing things that the next person is failing to do.  I like new things.  I like originality and I like outside of the box training and most of all – logical training.  There’s still people out there using wraps for insignificant barbell poundages.  It’s those people which serve as inspiration.  There’s a lession to be learned from everyone.  “Use the unmotivated to motivate” – to quote myself!
